Historic Prints Make Perfect Gifts

By Megan Gilbride |

Searching for the perfect gift for a history buff? The Delaware Historical Society has the solution for your gift-giving dilemmas.

The recently launched Fine Historic Reproductions program provides high-quality reproductions of historic maps, documents and images. Among the wide selection of historic artifacts are army recruitment posters from the Civil War, photographs of 19th-century America, and Colonial maps, but almost anything from the society’s collection can be reproduced. The prices start at $39, and the prints are presented in a gift sleeve and available matted and/or framed.

These unique pieces of history are perfect for hanging on a wall at home or displaying at the office. Corporate gift-giving programs are also available.

Along with your purchase, you will receive two complimentary tickets to the Read House and Gardens in New Castle. A collection of Victorian toys and hand-decorated Christmas trees ornament this early 19th-century estate, making it a great way to celebrate the holiday season.

To browse the collection or purchase an image, visit www.dehistory.org or call (302) 295-2390. Make your purchase by Dec. 10 in order to receive it by Christmas.
