Radnor Hunt Races 2011
Hats and horses prove equally dazzling
Those attending the 81st Radnor Hunt Races, held on May 21, 2011, enjoyed fine weather and even better finery, as hats seemed to be the order of the day. The purses for the six exciting steeplechase races totaled $180,000, and all proceeds benefited the Brandywine Conservancy.
Two jockeys emerged triumphant, winning three races apiece.
Richard Boucher fired the opening salvo by winning with Class Indian, owned by Mede Cahaba Stable and trained by Lilith Boucher. The second race belonged to Paddy Young astride Ballet Boy, owned by Cashel Stables and trained by Thomas Voss. Boucher aboard One Wild Bird won the third race, a timber race; the horse is owned by Pink Ribbon Racing and trained by Regina Welsh. Boucher continued his winning streak into the fourth race with Complete Zen, owned by Mede Cahaba Stable and trained by Lilith Boucher. Paddy Young took the fifth race aboard Mabou, owned by Kenneth and Sarah Ramsey and trained by Thomas Voss, and then captured the sixth, too, with Dance Faster, owned by Debra Kachel and trained by Ricky Hendriks.
