Wilmington Flower Market Hosts “Viva Las Vegas” Casino Night

Share

The Wilmington Flower Market hosted the “Viva Las Vegas” Casino Night on March 27 to benefit the many children’s organizations supported by the Flower Market. The “Casino” transformed several rooms at the Deerfield Golf and Tennis Club in Newark into a scene right out of Monte Carlo. Strolling models, provided by Barbizon, enhanced the allure of the event, a cabaret singer entertained the crowd, hors d”oeuvres were plentiful, and guests sipped cocktails while casino chips flew between dealers and guests.

A silent auction offered valuable items to the highest bidder while another room became a chic boutique offering jewelry, fashions and other accoutrements. The guests reveled in the fun, competing to see who had the luckiest hand at the professional gambling tables. Winners at the tables won prizes; best of all, they knew they were contributing to the good work of the Flower Market.

Suzanne Nista, this year’s general chairman of the Flower Market, said, “We were delighted that so many people came out to enjoy an evening of fun, food, and fashion. The event generated additional funds, helping to offset any inclement weather that might affect attendance at the Flower Market.”

The Flower Market fair will be held Thursday, May 6; Friday, May 7; and Saturday, May 8, from 10am to 7pm.
