Fall Foliage Express

Through Nov. 10, West Chester, Pa.

Catch the final colors of the season aboard the West Chester Railroad’s Fall Foliage Express, which takes place select weekends this month. The 90-minute scenic train ride traverses the Chester Creek Valley, stopping in Glen Mills before returning to the borough.

 

Blooms and Bamboo

Through Nov. 17, Kennett Square, Pa.

Longwood Gardens’ annual Chrysanthemum Festival gets an update this.Celebrating the Japanese art of flower arrangement, Blooms and Bamboo takes over the four-acre conservatory and features specially trained flowers, plus the Thousand Bloom Chrysanthemum.

 

Fall Photography Stroll

Nov. 2, Hockessin, Del.

Whether a novice or skilled photographer, hone your skills at Mt. Cuba Center’s early morning dedicated photo stroll, when the gardens will be empty and foliage will be near peak. A professional photographer will guide visitors through techniques and shots.

 

Fall Food Truck Thrown Down

Nov. 2-3, Chadds Ford, Pa.

Chaddsford Winery brings together nearly a dozen food trucks—including Dos Gringos, Mama Mia and the Polish Connection—for pay-as-you-go dining. Even better, diners get to decide who their favorite food truck is. There will also be live music and plenty of wine at this two-day event.

 

Clover Market

Nov. 3, Kennett Square, Pa.

Start checking things off your holiday shopping list when the roving Clover Market makes its way to Kennett Square. Dozens of vendors will be selling their wares outside Genesis HealthCare. Look for face painting, live music and several food vendors, too, including Dos Hermanos and Phyllodelphia.

 

Pennsylvania Hunt Cup

Nov. 3, Unionville, Pa.

The 85th running of the Pennsylvania Hunt Cup includes a four mile timber steeplechase race traversing 22 fences, one of the longest of its kind sanctioned by the National Steeplechase Association. Other events include a carriage parade and the parade of hounds.

 

Delaware Antiques Show

Nov. 8-10, Wilmington, Del.

Benefiting Winterthur Museum, the Delaware Antiques Show returns for its 56th year. Held at the Chase Center, the event includes 60 of the country’s finest antiques dealers with everything from jewelry to furniture to ceramics. An opening night preview party with cocktails will take place on Nov. 7.

Cooking Demonstration at the Woodlands

Nov. 9, Kennett Square, Pa.

Thanksgiving side dishes are featured at this free chef-led demonstration at the Woodlands at Phillips Mushroom Farms.

 

Unionville Art Gala

Over 70 artists working in a variety of mediums—from jewelry to wood to glass to photography—will gather for the Unionville Art Gala at Unionville High School.
