The gold, red, and purple colors of fall burst to life at Longwood Gardens? festive showcase of ?Autumn’s Colors.? Explore the changing landscape and enjoy the brilliant hues in the Idea Garden and Flower Garden Walk as the season’s beauty glows through vibrant annuals and perennials at peak bloom.

During the harvest of the Vegetable Garden, visitors can sample the homegrown produce in seasonal dishes served at Longwood’s eateries. Visitors of all ages will appreciate the Garden Railway, an intricate miniature display that travels past tiny Longwood landmarks, featuring five locomotives and more than 45 different engines all inspired by the Gardens and designed using natural materials.

?Autumn’s Colors? will be on view from Sept. 6 to Nov. 23 and, starting on October 25, the popular Chrysanthemum Festival will be the highlight of the season. Inside the Conservatory, discover more than 20,000 blooming chrysanthemums, all meticulously formed by a team of experts to resemble clouds, torches, spirals, 13-feet arches, and more.

This ancient Asian art form can take more than a year to accomplish, and Longwood is one of the few places in the world where this innovative plant-growing technique is still practiced. At the center of this horticulture celebration, showcasing Longwood Gardens’ extraordinary artistry, is the Thousand Bloom Mum, the largest in North America.
