For the Pirate in All of Us: The DeBraak is Back in Lewes!

Unleash your inner pirate by touring the hull of the 18th-century British warship the DeBraak! This ship capsized off the coast of Delaware on May 25, 1789.

Come celebrate the return of the DeBraak to Delaware on May 25 at 1pm, commemorating the 215th anniversary of the ship sinking. Can’t make it to the opening event? No worries! Tours and lectures will take place at 10am and 1pm on Mondays from June through October. Call 302.645.1148 or visit shop.delaware.gov for a list of specific dates.

Each event starts at the Zwaanendael Museum, with a lecture on the ship and “A Seaborn Citizenry: The DeBraak and Its Altantic World” exhibit, followed by a curated tour of the ship’s hull.
